ABOUT US

ABOUT LOVE TROP LIFE
We’re doing it! We closed the doors to our business, gave away almost everything we own and are moving to Baja California, Mexico. After years of working 7 days a week, we found ourselves burnt out and we decided that spiritual, mental and physical health are more important than wealth. Here is our quest to find all three.
Why Baja, you ask? I know close friends and family would have guessed that we would have moved to Costa Rica, since we have traveled the country extensively. Baja wasn’t our first choice and not tropical at all. In fact, we were all set to move to the Caribbean, but in the end, we decided that the tropics can wait. We opted to move to a place that is close and easy to drive to with our cat, Miles.
Detours in life may lead to discovering places we never knew we loved. We are going to embrace this less exotic “detour” and are excited for the adventures that await us!
Dave and I met in 2004 on a blind date to sushi, which evolved into a whirlwind courtship, followed by a long distance move and then a short but sweet wedding ceremony in 2005 at a waterfall in Colorado with just the two of us, Dave’s brother (witness) and an Officiant that we called from the Yellow pages.
Since our wedding we have lived in Colorado and Nevada. We have never lived in a single place for longer than 7 years because we get “itchy” to move somewhere different. We both have wanderlust and a desire to be adventurous, but have had no time to explore this desire, (besides our yearly trips to Costa Rica) due to time constraints and obligations with our business.
We quickly learned that our yearly trips to Costa Rica would not be enough to unwind and heal from the accumulation of stress all year. We also wanted adventure, we wanted to see the world before we got old. We also knew that we wanted to include Miles into our travels. Like most adventurous decisions, we made this one over a few glasses of wine. We asked ourselves, can we close the doors to our business, live minimally and stretch this adventure out for the rest of our lives?
Cheers,
Jen & Dave
