Kayaking was super fun with these ladies on Friday in San Quintin Bay, which is right in our backyard. It was my first time to kayak and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and wondered why I had not taken advantage of my beautiful surroundings before, then I remembered the tides and the wind. You can only go around high tide and it needs to be early morning before the wind kicks up. The 7 of us had a great time paddling, laughing and playing bumper boats at times.
I have met some fabulous women here in Baja, 100% of the women that I have met are tough; they are survivors. These women are strong individuals, that are also strong-minded, strong-willed and usually have strong opinions. Since we had such a large group of women together kayaking, I had to come up with a name for us that would be fitting. I named our group The Power Bitch Posse. I don’t mean anything derogatory with that name or to any individual, it is meant that be empowering as we are all strong, tough women, not to mention that we are also totally awesome. Here is some video footage and pictures taken of that day compiled together. We were having so much fun, we didn’t get much footage.
Earlier in the week we went fishing and it was an awesome day on the water. The sky was blue, the air was warm and the seas were calm. The actual fishing was just ok, but the whale show was amazing. We saw about a dozen whales as they were migrating south for their yearly migration. We could hear them singing underwater, their songs were very loud as the sound waves bounced off our aluminum boat. We were able to get close enough to a few that we could see their breath spray and also a few tails in the air. I seriously felt like I was in the middle of a National Geographic documentary.
After we had our fill of the whales, we did catch various bottom fish and a few bonito.
When we went to take the hook out of this fishes mouth, it had around 6 bait fish in its mouth and a few actually jumped out, which was gross and cool at the same time.
