Right now it is windy season in San Quintin. We were told that there was a little wind similar to Santa Ana winds here during the months of February – June. We have both experienced Santa Ana winds and didn’t think too much about it. Windy season is better explained as the winds blow 20-30 MPH for days on days straight. We just had a stretch of 14 days where the winds blew nonstop without a break. When the winds are blowing that strongly, you cannot go out fishing, you don’t want to hike, unless you like a mouthful of dirt and it is downright cold. There have only been a few days where I haven’t worn a hoodie.
We decided that we needed a break from the wind and the cold. We have been going a little stir-crazy and decided that we need to seek less wind and warmer weather so, we are headed 434 miles south to a town called Mulege which is on the Sea of Cortez side of Baja. We will leave our motorhomes behind and hit the road with a few suitcases, the boat and Miles of course. We have rented a house for the months of May and June, and it is right on the water.
